The original Singing Aspens/Birch Trees on Horizon originated from a stack of 1940's sheet music purchased at an estate sale. Michele had planned on using them as the background for some mixed media pieces. She had them sitting next to some aluminum tape strips that she has used extensively in a popular series of aspen tree paintings. The more she looked at them she realized the sheet music cut into tapered shapes would create wonderful, interesting looking aspen tree trunks. A minimalist look was achieved by using an only black, white and gray palette. Raised silver colored metal is applied at the horizon line for a contemporary feel to this reproduction. *Brian
Singing Aspens/Birch Trees on Horizon is a one of a kind hand embellished reproduction using our raised “Molten Metals” process. The metal is antiqued and a coat of varnish is applied. This added dimension makes it look like the original but at a fraction of the cost. Printed on a ready to hang 1.5" deep canvas, the edges are gallery wrapped in black so there's no need to frame!
Due to the handcrafted nature of this artwork, each piece may have subtle differences.
