New Mexico Flag Map (canvas wrap)

The original New Mexico Flag Map was painted on a road map of New Mexico. I painted it using thin washes of acrylic paints that allow the map to show through. I painted the background first and allowed it to dry. I then traced out the Zia symbol,  painted it and then added the gold raised spiral to the center of the Zia. To the Zia people it symbolizes The Circle of Life:  the four directions, the four times of day, the four stages of life, and the four seasons. The circle binds the four elements of four together. I added the gold raised metal spiral to each reproduction and antiqued it.  It is available in two sizes. *Brian

New Mexico flag Map is a one of a kind hand embellished reproduction using our raised “Molten Metals” process. This added dimension makes it look like the original but at a fraction of the cost. Printed on a ready to hang 1.5" deep canvas, the edges are gallery wrapped in black so there's no need to frame!
